1. What made you want to compete?
After my son Anthony was born in 2004 I set a goal to lose the baby weight within a year, once I completed that goal I was looking for a bigger challenge, something that was out of my comfort zone. I decided to compete in my first figure competition in April of 2009 & the rest is history!

2. What do you do to stay inspired?
I continue to challenge myself by setting new goals. I am also very inspired by my fellow athletes and I enjoy following their journey. Last but not least my SPF girls that I work with on a daily basis helping them to reach their goals. These women inspire me everyday, their strength, determination & willpower continue to amaze me & I am honored to be their coach!

3. What shows have you already been in or plan to be in in the future?
I competed with the Fitness America organization for a little over two years winning the Ms. Figure New England title in 2010 & the Figure Universe title in 2011 as well as the Figure America Classic Division title in 2011.
I have competed with the NPC as well placing first in figure class B @ the Jay Cutler in 2010.
I have wanted to become part of the WBFF Family for the past year. Circumstances had tried to prevent me from doing so but I knew in my heart that this is where I should be.
I cannot wait to step on stage November 3rd @ Kevin’s Show! I am proud to finally say I will be sharing the stage with the best of the best! The WBFF athletes are inspiring & the organization is a class act organization that prides itself on taking care of it’s competitors & running great events!

4. Who got you started?
I have to give credit to Monique Reilly Cole & her husband Jim who both helped me to prepare for my very first figure competition. They helped me with EVERYTHING! I will forever be grateful for them showing me a good experience or I would not have continued with my journey.

5. Who do you look to for help now?
For the past year I have been working with Mick Souza as my trainer & coach & with both Mick & Dave Lyford for my nutrition.
Mick is an amazing coach & friend & I am very thankful to have him in my corner as I prep for this show. He is everything that a good coach should be!
Both Mick & Dave have helped me improve my conditioning tremendously. Dave Lyford had worked with me when I won the Figure Universe Title in 2011 & The Figure America Classic Division Title in 2011. Dave is an amazing nutritionist & I work very closely with him now in my own business “Shannon Petralito Fitness”

6. Where do you usually workout?
I workout at Powerhouse Gym in Plymouth & I thank both Deb & Andy for allowing me to utilize the gym to film workouts there as well!
I also workout at the Fitness Company For Women owned by Meredith Nixon. Meredith is an amazing trainer & master Pilates intructor. She is also part of team SPF.

7. Do you use any suppliments? If so, what ones (brands, names, etc)
I love the Betancourt Nutrition product line!
I love their protein Big Blend – White Chocolate is my favorite!
D-Stunner is an awesome pre-workout – no crash no jitters & intense focus for a great workout!
Englutarade is a great endurance & recovery formula!
Betancourt is a great company with a quality product line.

8. What are your most noticeable results?
This season I would have to say my abs, back & legs! I have added size & depth, I have really worked hard & I am very happy with the results!

9. Has fitness changed your life? If so, how?
Fitness has taught me how to deal with stress, it has taught me patience & it has taught me that with dedication & hard work you can achieve your goals!

10. What personal fitness goals have you set for yourself?
I hope to be competing on the Pro stage at the August 2013 World’s!

11. Describe your diet.
Currently I am carb cycling for the show.
My mostly consists of Egg Whites, Chicken, Fish & Big Blend Protein on occasion. I vary my carbs when I am not too close to a show & they include: Ezekiel Bread, Sweet Potato, Brown Rice & Oatmeal, Veggies mostly consist of Baby Spinach, Asparagus, Broccoli & Green Beans. Fruits consist of mostly berries or kiwi & fats mostly raw almonds & a variety of healthy oils.
“Offseason” I allow my diet to have a lot of variety as far as fruits, veggies, fats, proteins & starches but for now it’s pretty strict 😉

12. What does your workout schedule look like?
Currently I weight train 5 days a week & I’m currently doing 6 days a week split cardio sessions because I am a few weeks from show.

13. What do you do for a living?
I am the owner & founder of Shannon Petralito Fitness I offer personal training, nutrition & support to women & men looking to better themselves mentally & physically. I offer a wide variety of programs ranging form the individual looking to live a healthy & fit life to the competitor looking to bring their best package to the stage.
I am an ISSA CPT, a nutritional consultant & I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston. I also hold my Paralegal Certification through Northeastern University.

14. What are your personal non-fitness goals?
I hope to continue to build my business Shannon Petralito Fitness & hope to own my own studio one day.
I also hope to continue to advance in my career as a fitness model/spokesperson.

15. Have you participated in any other sports?
High School Track – I was the only girl on the team – they did not have a girls track team – lol.

16. Here you can mention your family/thank you’s.
I would first like to thank my husband Chris for being my rock, my biggest supporter throughout my journey. I love you baby! Everything you do means so much to me. You have been there for me since the beginning & we have shared so many amazing memories together !
Second, my little man Anthony who is my number 1 fan – I love you buddy! Thank you for making my number one job so enjoyable!
Last but certainly not least to my entire family my friends, my SPF girls & my fans – thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your continued support & love – it’s what keeps me striving to be better & better!

17. Do you have any hobbies?
I like to read & spend time just relaxing with my boys 😉

20. Is there anything else you would like to add that you think we’ve missed?
I just want to say thank you for the opportunity to create this bio so that people may get to know me a little bit better. I look forward becoming part of the WBFF family & can’t wait to rock that stage on November 3rd! The WBFF – There’s Nothing Like It!
