1. What made you want to compete?
Competing was something Ive always dreamed of doing but never had the guts, self esteem and courage to do it or even so i was intimidated . Jan 8 2012 I lost my father unexpectedly. i really thought my life was over. I still woke up everyday with a fake smile on my face while feeling completely dead inside wondering how i was gonna live the rest of my life. As the year went on i fell into a deep depression and lost myself, there were days i couldn’t even think straight. I just wanted my father back and believed i would see him walk through that front door once again. When the holidays came around I remember sitting opening presents telling myself “2013 is gonna be my year and Im going to start setting serious goals.” My father was my biggest supporter in anything I did he would have my back and cheer me on to the end in whatever I got myself involved in. I knew he wouldnt wanna see me like this, I knew i couldn’t sit around anymore and had to do something . Jan 2013 I set some goals and here I am weeks away from stepping on stage in Roade Island with my father on my side.
2. What do you do to stay inspired?
Constantly thinking positive thoughts the negatives at times slip In there but I fight it and replace it with a positive thought Instead of saying ” I think I can do it ” I tell myself ” I will do it”. Its a daily battle. My fellow brickhouse teammates who have competed before and who haven’t, stick together and push one another closer to success . We’re brickhouse for a reason it’s hard to break a brick in half so to try to break one of us is impossible. My coach Tabitha Sierra is incredible with her constant positive attitude and engery towards me. I drive a hour n half just to train with her once a week just to soak up all her positive attitude and determination I need for the week.
