1. What made you want to compete?
It has always been something I have wanted to do but never had the discipline. I never thought it was something I could achieve.

2. What do you do to stay inspired?
I call my coach Jimmy, my friend Bobby or Leo Dousis who I have worked out with for years. They always bless me with words of encouragement when the pressure seems to be too much. A simple text like “Stay Focused!” or “Sarah, you can do this!” keeps me going. I also want to prove to women everywhere that having a child isn’t the end of your physique. As a mother of two boys, I am proof that you can do anything you put your mind to!! Nothing is impossible.

3. What shows have you already been in or plan to be in in the future?
This is my first show! I want to focus on getting through this show and get a feel for how it works before I make any future plans to compete.

4. Who got you started?
Not a simple answer. My friend Bobby started working out with me about 41/2 years ago. I just wanted to tone up a little. He is the first person to ever mention fitness competitions to me. Then, I started working out with Leo Dousis 21/2 years ago and he encouraged me to compete as well. So finally I made some calls and got in touch with Jimmy from Flex fitness who brought me through the final phase of this journey. Its a love/hate relationship, especially when he starts taking away food! Love him for it though;) I am so happy that I listened to them!!

5. Who do you look to for help now?
Everyone! I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by enormous support. From co-workers, family and friends. Jimmy can tell me what to do but its up to me to follow through when he is not around. They all help me with that. There are a lot of parties with cake, pasta, brownies ect. at work and my co-workers keep me honest lol.

6. Where do you usually workout?
Flex fitness in Plainfield, CT. Summit Fitness in Norwich, CT. Leo Dousis’s gym.

Catalyst from AdvoCare is phenomenal. It makes my skin glow and really brings out the definition in my muscles.

My arms, shoulders and abs.

9. Has fitness changed your life? If so, how?
OH YESS!!! I have a lot more confidence now!! I also have a lot of will power when it comes to food………try at least! I have learned that the biggest part of being fit and toned is what you put in your mouth and when!
