1. What made you want to compete?
For years I always wondered what It took to train and compete like a fitness model.. After the birth of my 2nd son and as I was getting close to 40, I decided that was a goal I was going to achieve!

2. What do you do to stay inspired?
My 2 boys keep me going every day as well as my own fitness clients. Knowing that everyone starts to follow you and that if you walk to walk, then along the way you motivate others; that keeps me inspired to reach my goals and help others reach theirs. My coach, Nicole Costa, WBFF Pro is my huge inspirations, as well as many other pros like her; Madalena DosSantos, Tabitha Sierra, Eleonora Dobrinina, Jeannette Jarnes, and andreia Brazier to name a few!

3. What shows have you already been in or plan to be in in the future?
WBFF Boston and WBFF New England placing 2 and 3rd in Diva Bikini Model 35 plus.

4. Who got you started?
Ms. Nicole Costa, WBFF Pro helped me every step of the way. I was told of Nicole from my friend Hope LaFreniere who use to live in RI and competes as well.

5. Who do you look to for help now?
Nicole continues to coach me, and since I have 2 shows under my belt, I have learned a lot about what works for my body and what does not.. I am currently doing a lot of studying on nutrition and supplementation which has been helpful

6. Where do you usually workout?
Sterling YMCA in Beverly or WOW in Peabody Mass. I also teach TRX boot camp class at Yogasakti in Salem mass, and do my yoga classes that I integrate into my training.

7. Do you use any suppliments? If so, what ones (brands, names, etc)
I am currently using Adcocare, catalyst, spark(pre-workout), mass gain. I use Karbolyn (EFX) and Cellucor CLK

8. What are your most noticeable results?
Have made good muscle gain and definition in my shoulders, and legs

9. Has fitness changed your life? If so, how?
Fitness has allowed me to realize that even as you get into your 40’s, you can stay young and in shape!

10. What personal fitness goals have you set for yourself?
My ultimate big goal is to be on the WBFF World stage and I hope to accomplish this in august 2014

11. Describe your diet.
6 meals which consist of 40/30/20 protein/carb/fat. This does change throughout my training and I do cut carbs on my off training days. Keep a close eye on what foods work for my body and which do not..

12. What does your workout schedule look like?
Hit the weights 5-6 times per week, with fasting cardio 3 days a week X30 minutes.. I also integrate HITT training as well as hot power yoga a couple of days.. Training legs twice per week.

13. What do you do for a living?
I am a fitness trainer as well as a Brand Partner for Nerium International (anti aging skin care line. I am a registered respiratory therapist and spend 20 years in Medical Sales, but currently running my own business from home, to spend time with my boys. I am also the found of ROCKINFITMAMA!

14. What are your personal non-fitness goals?
To raise my two boys to live a healthy life, be great little boys which will develop into respectful young adults. I am also working on developing a very successful home based business, so I do spend time working on that.

15. Have you participated in any other sports?
I ran the Boston Marathon twice, I use to play softball and have even hit the golf course a few times with my husband.

16. Here you can mention your family/thank you’s.
I want to thank my husband who had endlessly supported me with every competition and every endeavor I have started. My 2 boys, Eddie and Brady for being the biggest “WHY”, I have in life and for motiving me every day to be the best mommy I can be. Without my coach, Nicole Costa, I would have NEVER been able to pursue a dream I had for years. Her passion for helping everyone around her, and her love for this sport, makes me want to bring my best to the stage every time!

17. Do you have any hobbies?
I have recently taken an interest in cooking a bit more and exploring in the kitchen. I am even interested in taking a cooking class..

I love hitting the gym, and playing ball with my boys.

18. What are challenges that you face that may keep you from reaching your fitness goals?
Managing the time it takes to not only hit the stage but also compete can be challenging when you have kids, but I make it a priority, because I want my kids to the know the importance of working out!

19. What obstacles have you overcome to be where you are?
Making fitness and nutrition a life style rather than a “competition” style. It was hard for me to adjust to the schedule of workouts and eating structure, while trying to maintain a normal family life with kids and husband.
