1. What made you want to compete?
I am naturally a competitive person that really enjoys all sports. When I found out that women could compete in figure competitions I thought “wow, that awesome, and challenging… I’m in!” Then I got pregnant with my first. 4 years and 3 children later I am finally stepping on stage.

2. What do you do to stay inspired?
My family inspires me. I keep myself aware of all of the sacrifice and commitment they have put in to my accomplishments and therefore don’t want to let them down. I also keep in mind the commitments my trainer and friends have invested too! So when I am having a bum day I remind myself there is no turning my back on my teammates. Play hard until the end!

3. What shows have you already been in or plan to be in in the future?
This is my first! No plans yet!

4. Who got you started?
Me! I set my goals and beasted them.

5. Who do you look to for help now?
I have received some amazing help and guidance on my food, nutrition, fitness training, and stage presence from my trainer and friend Rafael Ramirez, an outstanding fitness expert and competitor in New York City.
I have also gotten help from Madelena Del Soto on posing and getting by butt in to gear. She was actually the light the started my fire and burned all of my excuses.

6. Where do you usually workout?
Reebok Sports Club in New York City

7. Do you use any suppliments? If so, what ones (brands, names, etc)
I use:
Natrol for my L-Carnitine and CLA
Herbalife for my multivitamins, Omega, and Aminogen (helps to process proteins)
MusclePharm: glutamine
Intra-workout Beverage:
Vitargo, Creatine (musclepharm), Inner Armour BCAA

8. What are your most noticeable results?
Everything! During the summer I was training for sprint triathlons so my diet and exercise regime was completely different. I could eat almost anything and my muscles didn’t pop as much. Changed my goal for fitness competing about 8 weeks out from the show and my body responded!

9. Has fitness changed your life? If so, how?
Fitness is my life! I am a personal trainer in NYC and absolutely love what I do! I feel like exercise is my balance. I would always prefer a session at the gym versus going out for a night on the town. My family also breaths staying active! I wouldn’t want it any other way!

10. What personal fitness goals have you set for yourself?
Getting my body back post pregnancy was one. Just being able to fit in the my pre pregnancy clothes again was all I wanted. Then I changed my goals to do sprint triathlons with my husband. And last but not least this competition for myself.
I would like to do another competition down the road so we will see where this path takes me!

11. Describe your diet.
I eat a lot! I am on a plan that requires me to eat every 3 hours show or no show. I make sure I am never feeling hungry or without energy. For the last 3-4 weeks my diet has consisted of mainly white fish, salmon, eggs, asparagus, spinach, sweet potatoes, and rice. Before training specifically for the show I had a variety of healthy options including Herbalife shakes both meal replacement and post workout, nuts, potatoes, beef, cheese, lots of vegetables and fruits. I also would have my favorite pb&j’s like they are going out of style with an occasional dessert. I always allowed myself a cheat day so that I can enjoy some things I might not normally get to indulge in.

12. What does your workout schedule look like?
I plan to do something every day whether it is 30minutes of cardio or a full on weight training routine. That way when I don’t have the time or desire then I am not beating myself up about it. But typically my workout schedule varies considerably as my goals also vary. So I guess it all depends on what I am working towards.

13. What do you do for a living?
I am a Personal Trainer in NYC and also sell Herbalife Products

14. What are your personal non-fitness goals?
To be the best wife, mother, family member, friend, personal trainer, and coach that I can be. To be the best version of myself to beast anything in life that I want to… with a smile.

15. Have you participated in any other sports?
High school I did high jump, long jump, and 400m hurtles. I rode horses through college and became a gym rat somewhere in between.

16. Here you can mention your family/thank you’s.
I can’t show enough gratitude towards my family and friends. The amount of support and commitment that they have given me has been such a blessing. My two smallest cheerleaders Lennox and Ava have melted my heart and blessed my soul with such beauty and adaptability. My husband, gosh your awesome! I couldn’t have done this without you and wouldn’t ever want to. Kimi, our babysitter and family… you are my right hand. Mom and Dad, best best best grandparents out there! Rafael, incredibly grateful for your training and guidance and friendship. I hope my successes show your work well! And of course to all of my clients and friends that have been cheering me on the entire ride!

17. Do you have any hobbies?
As my family grows together so these hobbies change: travel, triathlons, read, gardening, skiing, going to sporting events.

18. What are challenges that you face that may keep you from reaching your fitness goals?
Having two children under the age of 3 has been incredibly challenging. They come first so I always must make the most of my gym time and the time in which they are sleeping. I also love food.

19. What obstacles have you overcome to be where you are?
My first son CJ (Christian James) passed away 10 days short of a year from SIDS. It is the worst feeling anyone could experience losing a child. The pain you have to work through and feeling of loss is such a journey, you can either allow it to make you or break you. My first son taught my husband and I so much and he gave us so much that we knew we had to use that and move forward. We loved being parents and we loved the sense of pure joy children gave to us. So we held each others hand tight and started our journey of healing that included two more beautiful children. We hang on to the fact that we have had 3 children and we embrace who it has made us. It is an obstacle I am not sure of whether or not we will ever overcome but it is certainly a part of our life that we work with whenever it may arise.
