1. What made you want to compete?
I have always been a fitness buff, and have been modeling for several years. Although I stayed in shape, I was always so inspired by physique competitors, and how they were able to take their bodies to a whole different level of fitness. I love a challenge, and wanted to prove to myself that I was capable of that commitment. I did months of research to find the right federation, and have been so pleased with the WBFF! One show and I was hooked!

2. What do you do to stay inspired?
I surround myself with positive and inspiring people! I have an amazing group of people I see day in and out, each always striving towards a new goal. Their passion and dedication pushes me to continue on my path and keep my goals front and center.

3. What shows have you already been in or plan to be in in the future?
I placed 7th at the WBFF Boston Eastern US Championships in 2013. I am competing in the same show again in 2014, and hope to someday take the stage in Vegas for Worlds with the best athletes in the industry!

4. Who got you started?
I was first intrigued with competing by Jamie Eason. By chance, I found an online program she had available and decided to give it a try. The change I saw in my body really gave me the push I needed to register for my first show!

5. Who do you look to for help now?
I trust my coach and everything she tells me to do ( Nicole Costa ) and I also use my own intuition. I have learned so much about my body and how it responds to certain types of training and nutrition. This learning process continues on a daily basis, and I love the feeling of trusting my intuition for what’s best for me!

6. Where do you usually workout?
I am actually a personal trainer at PUMPS in Wakefield MA. It is an all Women’s facility, and it is so nice to be surrounded by my clients while I workout!

7. Do you use any suppliments? If so, what ones (brands, names, etc)
I am a distributor for Advocare and simply can’t say enough good things about their products. They really changed my prep for my upcoming show! I take a lot of the performance elite line– muscle gain, o2 gold, nighttime recovery, and also love their spark, slam, and MNS vitamins!

8. What are your most noticeable results?
Between my show in 2013, and the show this year, I see the biggest change in my legs and glutes. I was given feedback by the judges last year that this was my weakest area, so I put forth all my effort during the off season to put on some solid muscle in those areas. Its an amazing feeling to see all your hard work start to pay off.

9. Has fitness changed your life? If so, how?
Fitness IS my life. As a personal trainer and distributor for advocare , I breathe fitness day in and day out. It truly is my passion. Not only do I love to complete and train myself, but I love to help others do the same. Proper fitness and nutrition can change the course of anyone life, and when I am a part of helping someone achieve a goal, become healthier, and overall be more happy, I am grateful for the opportunity.

10. What personal fitness goals have you set for yourself?
I have several goals I am looking to achieve over the next few years. As most of the people who step on stage, I would be honored to be given the total of WBFF PRO. I admire each and every one of them, as they inspire me to be my best. To stand on stage with them would be an achievement of a life time.
I also want to change the face of the industry– sounds like a lofty goal– but being in the center of it, especially with social media today, I want to show people that competitors are people too. I want to teach women to love their bodies for what they are- and to never feel like they can’t achieve something they want. Its so important to me to teach people that proper nutrition and training is a lifestyle that is attainable, and everything is about balance!

11. Describe your diet.
I eat 6 times a day, and stay very consistent with my diet. I have found that consistency works best for me– simply eating the exact same meals every day. It takes a lot of the guess work out, and I don’t have to spend time counting my macronutrients.
I usually start my day with oatmeal and egg whites, then move on to several meals that consist of chicken or turkey with greens of some sort and a few starches per day such as sweet potatoes and brown rice. I always get in my good fats, and LOVE coconut oil. Even in the off season, I try to keep my diet “clean” Of course I have lax meals and go out to dinner, but I overall feel healthier when I am feeding my body nutrient dense foods.

12. What does your workout schedule look like?
I like to change my works out schedule often. I get very bored doing the same routine week after week. I always do a split boy part routine- lifting 4x per week in the off season, and upping that to 5-6times per week when in prep for a show or a photo shoot. I like to target my weakest areas 2x per week, and change my rep range accordingly.

13. What do you do for a living?
I am a full time personal trainer at an all Women’s gym. I also run my own online personal training business called Fire Physiques! I work with advocare full time as well.

14. What are your personal non-fitness goals?
At the end of the day, we only have one life to live. My number one goal is to be happy where I am in life, and travel OFTEN! I would rather spend my savings on an amazing and memorable trip then hold on to it “just in case” I have always felt that memories are the most important thing we carry, and we all deserve to take time to enjoy what this world has to offer. I plan on traveling with my husband to as many places as we possibly can!

15. Have you participated in any other sports?
I actually have my black belt in kempo karate, and was a dancer in high school!

16. Here you can mention your family/thank you’s.
There are so many people I could thank who have played a role in my success in life! To name them all would be extremely difficult. My family, my friends, my coworkers, my husband– each has been there for my 100% and I have never felt the sting of a negative comment or criticism. They embrace what I have chosen to do, and although they may not understand it, they come support me regardless!

17. Do you have any hobbies?
I am a big movie-goer! I just LOVE going to the theatre and watching a blockbuster!

18. What are challenges that you face that may keep you from reaching your fitness goals?
It this industry, sometimes it can be difficult to get out of your own head. Competing is all about body image, and its important to feel confident in yourself to be successful. Sometimes, I find myself feeling so afraid of failure, that I want to give up. Those are the times I turn to my support system, who always reminds me of how far I have come, and where I am heading.

19. What obstacles have you overcome to be where you are?
I have been through more in my lifetime than most ever should. I do ever use this as an excuse or reason to give in. I don’t ever want people to feel sorry for me, and view me as anything other than who I am inside. It is for that reason that I always solely focus on the positives, and appreciate each and every day I have!!!

20. Is there anything else you would like to add that you think we’ve missed?
If you told me 5 year ago that this is where my life was heading, I never would have believed you. Standing on stage with such amazing and dedicated individuals in an honor, and I embrace each moment. I am so pleased I chose the WBFF- they certainly are a family!
