1. What made you want to compete?
I am new to the field of figure competitions and strength training in general but became interested after a friend and workout pal expressed her enthusiasm for doing a competition. Her excitement for competing sparked an interest for me. I’m always game for new adventures.
2. What do you do to stay inspired?
I love starting out each day working out with my friends, Cindy Hankston and Katherine Chabot-Boucher who are also competing in this show–they are inspiring. I also get inspiration from positive messages and images other’s post and share on facebook as well as reading about the ‘fitness journey’ of others. Lastly, I get inspiration from noticing the positive changes I am making to my body and how these changes make me feel.
3. What shows have you already been in or plan to be in in the future?
This is my very first show.
4. Who got you started?
I am blessed to have 2 great workout buddies whom are good friends to me and have gotten me started on this lifestyle of health and fitness. I am also thankful of the guidance, encouragement, and support given to me by my personal trainer Don Bouchard (Saco, Sport, and Fitness) and my coach Erin Melito (Body, Mind, Potential).
5. Who do you look to for help now?
In terms of help around my fitness goals I will usually ask my friends, trainer, or coach.
6. Where do you usually workout?
I have spent a lot of time running in the ‘great outdoors’ and more recently I spend my time working out at Saco Sport and Fitness.
7. Do you use any suppliments? If so, what ones (brands, names, etc)
I use BCAA’s during my workouts and protein powder after my workout.
8. What are your most noticeable results?
Lately for me I have noticed more definition in my arms and abdominal muscles.
9. Has fitness changed your life? If so, how?
Yes very much so! I aspire to be fit, lean, and strong now whereas before I searched for skinny. I felt frustrated at times in my quest for thin and skinny, having an athletic frame. Focusing on a fit lifestyle has forced me to really take care of myself and as a result I have learned a great deal about who I am and who I want to be.
10. What personal fitness goals have you set for yourself?
My personal fitness goals are primarily around being strong, lean, healthy, and happy. More specifically, taking one day at a time and making the most of each day.
11. Describe your diet.
Currently my diet consists of a pre and post workout meal, six meals of protein a day, four of which include carbs. Protein sources for me include: plain greek yogurt, egg whites, protein powder, tofu, tempeh, and fish. For carbs I love ezekial bread, oatmeal, and sweet potatoes. I enjoy all veggies with every meal and for healthy fats I love coconut oil and freshly ground peanut butter. I also love my coffee black.
12. What does your workout schedule look like?
Currently I am lifting weights five days a week with a couple of cardio sessions built in. I take Sundays off to rest and recover.

I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two children. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, and shopping as well.

I have been faced with abandonment and rejection by my birth mother both at birth and as an adult which has really impacted me emotionally. I strive daily to overcome my insecurities around feeling valued and accepted as well as transforming my fear and anger into forgiveness.
